Department Materials Science and Engineering
Welcome to Department Materials Science and Engineering
Introduction
Materials are the basis for modern industries. They are the foundations on which all branches of engineering are built. In order to build a broad-based advanced industrial infrastructure and to continuously upgrade our industrial technologies materials science and engineering has been selected by the government to be one of the highlights of science development for the decades to come. In the foreseeable future, the role of the materials scientists and engineers will become more and more important.

Our department was founded against this background in 1980. Two programs are in the department, including an undergraduate day school (4-year program), and master’s program. We offer not only a professional training in the fabrication and characterization materials, also in their Functional and Green energy’s application.

Currently, the faculties include 5 full-,8 associate,6 assistant professors with area covering metallurgy, electronic materials, ceramics, thin film, corrosion, solar cell and green energy. Student enrollment consists of 404 undergraduates, 63 graduate students in master’s program. As of August, 2010, the department has conferred 94 B.S. degrees and 26 M.S. degrees. The graduates from this department have been received for their performance in the industrial segments.
